History…

Jyothidarsana Institute for Counselling & Mental Health was started by CMI congregation at Thodupuzha, Kerala, India on November 28, 1993. In order to expand the services of Jyothidarsana, land was purchased at Pulluvazhy, Perumbavoor, for the new campus. On December 8, 2007 the foundation station stone was laid for the new building and the construction was started. The new campus of Jyothidarsana was inaugurated on April 12, 2012.

Jyothidarsana Counseling Centre, Pulluvazhy, Perumbavoor is a brain child of Fr. Jose Mappilamattel, CMI, who was the founder and the first director of the centre. The centre is presently working under the leadership of Rev. Dr Gilson John CMI as Director and Rev. Dr. Mathew Manjakkunnel CMI as Patron.

The new campus of Jyothidarsana was blessed by Mar Sebastian Edayanthrath, the Auxiliary Bishop of Ernakulam-Angamaly Archdiocese and inaugurated by Hon. P.J Joseph, the Minister of Water Resources, on April 12, 2012. Fr. Sijan Oonnukallel, CMI (Provincial) and Rev. Fr. Joseph Karumathy (Vicar, St. Thomas Church, Pulluvazhy) were present in the ceremony.

The new spacious campus includes a chapel, well-equipped class rooms, library with over 4,000 books specializing in psychology, counseling, mental health, school counseling, spirituality and education.
​
On September 16, 2012 Jyothidarsana started its School Counseling Course in the new campus.
